Dyan Gershman draws on over 25 years of experience in the areas of corporate law and mergers and acquisitions in her role as founder and partner at Gershman Law, PLLC, in New York City. In her practice, she works with U.S. and international clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A, joint ventures, divestitures, intellectual property and technology licensing, and commercial transactions. Dyan Gershman is fluent in French, and conversant in Italian, and has substantial experience working with non-U.S. clients.
Prior to founding Gershman Law, Ms. Gershman held leadership positions at two Fortune 50 companies: executive counsel for transactions and finance at General Electric Company, and head of M&A and corporate law worldwide at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. In these roles, Ms. Gershman led many complex international corporate transactions, from mid-sized deals to multi-billion dollar acquisitions and divestitures. Ms. Gershman began her career as an associate in the corporate group at the renowned global law firm Jones Day in New York City.
Dyan Gershman received a BA in liberal arts and sciences (comparative literature) from Colorado College with highest distinction. After completing a yearlong graduate program in France as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, she went on to earn her JD at Boston College Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Boston College Law Review and graduated with honors. Ms. Gershman is a longtime member of the NYC Bar and supports vital groups within the organization such as the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice.
